Day 12: First store where you bought your gaming supplies. Does it still exist?

I come from a rural part of Minnesota. A sleepy place close enough to Canada that we feel the need to apologize for having cold weather.

You can guess that I didn’t have many options for gaming supplies growing up in the ’90s. I got my first gaming supplies from a store called Collectors Connection in Duluth. It was a sports and comics collectibles store in the biggest mall in the area. In the back there was a wall full of role-playing books and behind the counter there were shelves of Magic cards. (Next to Netrunner, Mech Warrior, Spellfire, and other short lived games.) Duluth was a fifty minute drive away from my home town so getting to even see nerdy merchandise was something to be celebrated.

That particular Collector’s Connection location isn’t in business any more, but it is still in the area. Duluth even has a other proper game stores now. How things change!
