First Miniatures – Day 13 D&D 40th Anniversary Blog Hop

This is day 13 of the of d20 Dark Ages’ D&D 40th Anniversary Blog Hop Challenge! Based off of the challenge’s prompts I will be sharing personal stories about my history with Dungeons & Dragons every day in February. Day 13: What were the first miniatures you used for D&D?

My long-time GM Pel had a Crown Royal bag full of probably $100 worth of D&D Minis.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still using them. I still identify my Eberron wizard-turned-ghoul character with the green staff-wielding mini. It was so used and abused that the top half the staff was eventually lost, but I had grown too fond of the little guy to swap.
