Dying Light “My Apocalypse Edition” announced

I really enjoyed Dying Light and I absolutely recommend it to anyone that digs first person action games. However, I think the guys at Techland have taken a few too many hits from whatever they like smoking out there in Poland. They’ve just announced that starting on February 25th, they will be offering a one time only exclusive collector’s edition of Dying Light: the “My Apocalypse Edition”. Retail on this bad boy will be £250,000 (about $386k at the time of writing for our largely American readership) making it the most expensive video game collector’s edition ever. So what does this get for one lucky (and ridiculously wealthy) UK fan?

From the press release:

The Dying Light “My Apocalypse” Collectors Edition contains:

  • Custom built Dying Light Zombie Home by Tiger Log Cabins
  • Zombie avoidance parkour lessons with Ampisound, the team behind the internet smash Dying Light Parkour POV video
  • Be The Zombie match with devs where you win so you can brag to your friends how “leet” you are
  • Trip to Techland in Wroclaw, Poland, to meet the dev team and party with Steve the Zombie Consultant
  • Your face skinned onto your Night Hunter character model
  • Dying Light branded night vision goggles + adult diapers for the night portions of the game
  • x4 signed Steelbox editions of Dying Light
  • x2 Top of the line Razer Tiamat headphones
  • Human sized Volatile figurine to use as a deterrent on human raiders

Is that incentive enough to drop that much cash? That cabin is pretty sweet looking and all, but unless you really need to be the creepiest of eccentric millionaires, I wouldn’t suggest actually having it built. Getting your face skinned onto a Night Hunter might just be the most bizarrely vain thing I could possibly imagine doing. It is still cool, but very weird. Am I just not being imaginative enough? Quite possibly. What do you guys think? Is this awesome or bat-shit insane?
