Jurassic World Evolution coming in June

Frontier Developments released a trailer today for the upcoming Jurassic World Evolution as well as announcing launch dates. Did I say dates? Yes, I did. Per their press release this morning:

Frontier Developments is pleased to announce that Jurassic World Evolution is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital-first on June 12, 2018.  A physical release will follow for PS4 and Xbox One on July 3, 2018.

The digital launch gives gamers ten days before the new film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, hits theaters. Plenty of time to build their own parks and then tell friends how they did a better job than the newbs in the movie.

I’m pretty hyped about the idea of playing a theme park sim where my guests can be unhappy due to triceratops stampede. Oh no, little Jimmy dropped his ice cream cone, but he’s no longer upset because that velociraptor disemboweled him. Problem solved. I want to see the research tree where I start combining dinosaur DNA to make weird new breeds. Can I give t-rex some spikes? Sign me up. (Note: I play these kinds of games to build up to huge disasters.)

Also from the press release, something about pre-order bonuses:

And finally, Frontier also announced that pre-orders for the standard and digital deluxe editions (featuring five extra dinosaurs) are available on Steam, PSN, Xbox Live and the Frontier Store RIGHT NOW.  Those who pre-order before launch will also receive a platform-exclusive helicopter skin and off-road vehicle skin.

They really love to bold everything in these press releases. I don’t feel like I need an Xbox green paint job on my helicopter, but I definitely want all of the dinos I can get. Dick move holding five of them (including ankylosaurus) back for the digital deluxe? Let us know in the comments. Check out the trailer and look at some fresh screenshots.
