It’s hard to be a nerd these days and NOT have opinions on movies that have a comic book as the source material! Tune in to hear:

- Everyone discusses the reptitive nature of frequently retold origin stories and why they may or may not be important to tell in a reboot
- Charles gets sad when he is the only one at the table who has watched Tank Girl
- Reuben vibrates in his chair when talking about the possability of a Justice League Dark movie

Really dug the comic movie podcast. Kinda disappointed that Nick and Reuben didn’t get to kvetch about how awful the Daredevil (and its Elektra spin off) movies were. As for the origin story debate, while I do not feel that every character needs an origin story, some characters–especially the ones that non-nerds do not know of–need some sort of context. That doesn’t mean an origin story per se, but something to help catch the movie goers.
Also, if you guys do talk about Future Movies We Want To See, bring up Carol “Captain Marvel” Danvers. She rules.
We could have gone on for DAYS with this podcast if we weren’t limited by time! Had we of known about the new choice for Batman we probably would have dissected Daredevil minute by minute. (lol) I think we all agree on the origins, and I think if the Justice League movie really is in the works by Snyder, we might get to see that in action. ALSO: Good choice, I hadn’t thought about Ms Marvel for a movie!
