Song? – Day 23 D&D 40th Anniversary Blog Hop

This is day 23 of the of d20 Dark Ages’ D&D 40th Anniversary Blog Hop Challenge! Based off of the challenge’s prompts I will be sharing personal stories about my history with Dungeons & Dragons every day in February. You can hop to another participating blog by using the links at the end of the article or click here to see my previous answers.

Day 23: What is the first song that comes to mind that you associate with D&D?

Most of the questions in this blog hop challenge have asked us to reflect upon and share our own personal histories with Dungeons & Dragons. That means that the word “first” comes up a lot, and it’s natural and easy short cut to dig up interesting memories. First game, first group, etc.

Despite this question having the word “first” in the title, I have no idea what it’s doing in this challenge. Really came out of left field.

But that might be because I’m not really a musical guy. Perhaps others have strong associations between this hobby of ours and their music of choice. In fact, I’m sure Hannah and Reuben would have an interesting answer for this question. But there’s something missing within me that prevents me from truly appreciating any of it. (Really, any of it.) I mostly listen to video game sound tracks and the one genre that’s pierced my heart: ’80s pop. It’s like I was born without taste buds so I’ve chosen to just eat Easy Mac for the rest of my life.

I really don’t have an answer to this question because I don’t associate music with much of anything. I would suggest clicking on the link below to scope out the other blogs’ answers. I know I will be.
